The multiplicity of risks countries face are not confined to traditional militarily threats, but include risks to a nation’s health, food, economic and social well being and the Corona pandemic has exacerbated these challenges. The Kingdom of Bahrain has begun to address the short and long-term problems posed by the pandemic, working from a strategic perspective to address the most prominent issues that have arisen, one of the most pressing of which is achieving self-food security. From this perspective, the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International & Energy Studies “Derasat” has dedicated its fourth annual forum to this issue titled, “Strategies to Attain Food Security: Challenges and Opportunities”.
