There has been much talk in recent years about sustainability, and the discussion has become associated with a set of agreed-upon standards, rather than an understanding of its dimensions and concepts. Sustainability as a term began to take shape in 1950, undergoing various phases until it transformed into goals adopted by the United Nations, now known as the Sustainable Development Goals.
