The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat) hosted a discussion session at its headquarters in Awali, bringing together H.E. Dr. Mohamed Maliki Bin Osman, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Education and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Singapore, and H.E. Mr. S. Premjith, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with other representatives from the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The session, held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, was chaired by Dr. Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Executive Director of Derasat, with the participation of several officials and researchers from the center.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Al Abdullah provided an overview of Derasat, highlighting its publications, research initiatives, international partnerships, and upcoming events. H.E. Dr. Osman expressed his appreciation for the significant work undertaken by Derasat and its commitment to advancing research in strategic and energy studies. He also commended the center’s pivotal role in fostering dialogue and cooperation across various research domains, emphasizing that Derasat makes vital contributions to knowledge exchange and creative thinking in the region.

The discussion focused on exploring avenues for collaboration between Derasat and various research institutions in Singapore. Both sides underscored the importance of launching joint initiatives that leverage their respective strengths to enhance research capabilities and accumulated expertise.

Participants exchanged views on key areas of potential cooperation and expressed their eagerness for future partnerships that would contribute to strengthening research ties across multiple fields. The session concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to sustaining collaboration between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Singapore in the field of research and strategic studies.
