Twenty-five years ago, in 1994, NATO launched the Mediterranean Dialogue Initiative between the Alliance and seven countries from the Middle East. The stated objectives of this initiative were to establish good relations aimed at bilateral understanding of the most important challenges Regional security and stability. Dr. Ashraf Keshk notes that the initiative had faced challenges, especially in view of the changes that had occurred in the countries of the Mediterranean since 2011.
