This study supports the commitment in achieving sustainable development goals within the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as there is a trend toward adopting effective waste management practices to reduce environmental impact and mitigate the effects of climate change.

The report further highlights the lessons learned from successful waste management policies in several countries, selected based on the Environmental Performance Index for 2022, with the aim of benefiting from their strategies and adapting them to suit the Arabian Gulf context.
