The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat) signed a cooperation agreement today in Switzerland with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in research, academic studies, and strategic analysis, as well as the exchange of expertise, ideas, and information to support the efforts of Bahrain and Switzerland in promoting security, stability, and peace both regionally and internationally.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of Derasat, expressed pride in signing the cooperation agreement with one of the world’s leading research institutions to foster collaboration in peace, security, dialogue, and international understanding. He praised the Geneva Centre as a global platform for knowledge, talent development, and innovation through its educational programs, training, policy analysis, and research.

Ms. Christina Orisich, Deputy Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, emphasized the importance of enhancing the partnership between the two institutions in research, diplomatic dialogue, and policy advisory. She commended Derasat’s achievements and contributions as a leading think tank at both regional and global levels in strategic research, security, and energy issues, supporting mutual understanding to maintain international peace and security.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Executive Director of Derasat, and Ms. Christina Orisich from the Geneva Centre. It includes workshops, training programs, and joint projects on issues related to security, peace, and stability, as well as strategic discussions on Gulf and regional matters. The collaboration will focus on research initiatives, capacity-building programs, and innovative responses to modern security challenges.
