The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) signed a significant Memorandum of Cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) from Germany during a ceremony held at Derasat’s headquarters in Awali on Wednesday, 20 November 2024. This agreement marks a new chapter in collaborative efforts between the two institutions.

The memorandum was formalized by Dr. Hamad Ebrahim Al-Abdulla, Executive Director of Derasat, and Mr. Philipp Dienstbier, Director of the Regional Programme Gulf States at KAS. This partnership aims to enhance cooperation in research, capacity building, and the promotion of mutual understanding on matters of interest. The event was attended by a number of officials from both organizations.

During the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Abdulla expressed his enthusiasm towards further collaboration, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in addressing regional and global challenges. He highlighted the shared commitment to fostering peace, security, and sustainable development through research and dialogue. Mr. Dienstbier echoed these sentiments, noting that the partnership would strengthen ties between the two organizations in various fields.
