The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) organized a seminar under the title of “Future Prospects of the GCC Electrical Interconnection” in cooperation with the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), on Wednesday 29th June 2022. With the participation of a group of experts and engineers of electrical utilities, policy makers in the field of electrical energy in the GCC countries, and energy researchers from Gulf research centers.
The seminar covered three sessions, the first of which examined “Current Challenges and Future Opportunities for the Gulf Electrical Interconnection,” while the second session focused on “The Role of International Partnership in Developing the Gulf Electrical Interconnection and Enhancing Cooperation,” and the third one examined “Regional Research Trends Towards the Future of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority.”
