Health awareness plays a crucial role in preventing individuals from being at risk of genetic disorders. As part of its focus on conducting surveys on issues relevant to Bahraini society, the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies “Derasat” conducted an opinion poll on “Awareness of Genetic Disorders (Down Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome, and Kleinfelter Syndrome)” on a representative sample of Bahraini males and females aged eighteen and above. The sample size was 1,238 individuals, and their opinions were collected during the period from March to April 2023 through 15 questions aimed at:
- Measuring and evaluating the community’s awareness of genetic disorders (using Down Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome, and Kleinfelter Syndrome as models).
- Gathering the community’s opinion on intensifying educational efforts about genetic syndromes.
